Ben "Cooter" Jones and Catherine Bach "Daisy Duke" Will be Hosting NASHVILLE RALLIES FOR ‘MUSIC VALLEY’ THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Rally For The Vally 2010

NASHVILLE RALLIES FOR ‘MUSIC VALLEY’

THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND

NASHVILLE, TN – The Music Valley area will be the setting for a Labor Day weekend  event called ‘Nashville’s Rally FOR the Valley,’ and this year there’s added meaning.  As many are familiar, this area along the Cumberland River suffered devastating damage during the historic flooding in May closing venues such as Gaylord Opryland, the Grand Ole Opry and Opry Mills.  The floods, along with the lingering effects of the deep recession, have created a challenging time for Music Valley merchants. So, in the great Nashville tradition, Music Valley is going to “put on a show.”  In fact, the ‘Valley’ is going to put on a lot of shows.  It’s being called ‘Nashville’s Rally FOR the Valley.’

“On Labor Day weekend, we are going to have wall to wall entertainment throughout Music Valley,” says Ben Jones, whose “Dukes of Hazzard” museum, Cooter’s Place, is one of the sponsors of the event.  “My pal Catherine Bach, perhaps better known as ‘Daisy Duke,’ will be with us all day Saturday at Cooter’s, meeting with fans and signing autographs.”

Another highlight will be live entertainment throughout the ‘Valley’ on Labor Day weekend, including our ‘Rockabilly Saturday Night’ show at the Nashville Palace.  We’ll have Cooter’s Garage Band and some special guests, along with headliner Sleepy LaBeef, the legendary Sun recording artist and rockabilly icon.

LaBeef has received rave reviews through the years…..  “Mr. Labeef is a living, breathing guitar-picking history of American music,” according to the New York Times. The Tennessean said, “with a six-foot-six, 270 pound frame and a voice that can rattle windows, there are few who have ever forgotten the experience of seeing him perform.

"Dukes" Back On TV

THE GREAT SHOWS GET BETTER WITH TIME!

Very good news is echoing through the hills and hollers of Hazzard County and the CB chatter is really heating up on the Hazzard net. “THE DUKES ARE BACK ON TELEVISION!”  Yessiree Y’all, CMT is bringing the "Dukes" back to evening television. A special weekend marathon will kick off the "Dukes" launch on September 10th at 8/7C. Then starting September 13th the "Dukes" will air 5 nights a week (Mon-Fri) at 7pm Eastern, 6pm Cental and 11pm Eastern, 10 Central.

In my opinion this is due to the fierce loyalty and undying support of our fans. Our show has found a permanent place in the fabric of the American Heartland. Now, with DVD’s getting scarce as hen's teeth, the next generation of "Dukes" Fans will have a place to watch and enjoy America's favorite family show.

 Thanks Y’all!

“Cooter” aka Ben Jones

October 9 thru October 10

Hazzard Run 2010 Vehicle Registration Now Open

CALLING ALL CARS. CALLING ALL HAZZARD CARS!

Hey Y’all,

The Generals are comin’! The Generals are comin’!

The General Lees are comin’, that is. And that’s good news for those who love the world’s most popular car.

The 2nd Annual Hazzard County Run will take place on Friday, October 9th through Sunday, October 10th. Another great General Lee owner, Bob Scott, has volunteered to help, so between them and us and as many of you who would like to participate it looks like its gonna be a really fun deal. The event will kick off with a gathering at Cooter’s in Nashville on Friday afternoon. On Saturday, after some more carrying on at Cooter’s Nashville we will depart for Gatlinburg. We will travel I-40 East, stopping in Crossville, Tennessee for a bit (that’s about half-way) and then head on to Cooter’s in Gatlinburg, arriving late afternoon to early evening. We can party-on there Saturday Night and all day Sunday with everyone taking off when they need to.

This will all be done in the old Sperryville tradition,  just for fun, easy and very, very uncomplicated. The registration fee of $25  for each car will cover 1 Hazzard Run T-Shirt, 1 dash plaque, 1 free go-kart ride, 1 free mini-golf round and free parking at Cooter’s in Gatlinburg where the lot fee is usually $5. All Hazzard County replica cars will be welcome.

Also, you can participate without paying a fee, you just won’t get the goodies. You will still need to register, however, so we can plan well. All participants and their guests will get 10% off any purchases at Cooter’s and Go-Kart rides and Mini-Golf at the Gatlinburg store will be reduced to only $5 for y’all.

We’ll be adding some more fun stuff but that’s the basics right now. We want to make it a very special General Lee event, so we sure hope to see you in October, if not sooner!

 Ol’ Cooter and Miss Alma
